BESS
Energy Storage Systems – The foundation of modern power systems
At Vortex, we are developing a portfolio of BESS projects with a total capacity of nearly 1800 MW - covering various technologies, scales, and locations. We also create hybrid solutions that integrate storage with renewable energy installations, supporting supply reliability and system stability in dynamic market conditions.
Energy storage plays a key role in today’s power system. It supports grid stability and efficient resource management.
Storage systems increase system flexibility and security. They enable the accumulation of surplus generation - particularly from renewable sources—and its use during periods of high demand. This supports system balancing, efficient resource management, and grid stability, while reducing risks and mitigating the impact of outages.
At Vortex, we view energy storage as a cornerstone of the energy transition. We are developing a portfolio of projects totalling nearly 1800 MW across different scales and locations. An important part of our strategy is hybrid installations that integrate storage with non-dispatchable sources, such as wind farms.
Our activities are supported by the expertise of the Vitol Group, spanning the entire value chain—from access to global technology suppliers to advanced operational models. This enables us to offer flexible solutions tailored to the needs of our clients, partners, and regulatory requirements.
